    About Cap d’agde

    Cap d’Agde is a city located near the sea and is has is also known as the “Black pearl of the Mediterranean Sea” in reference to its monuments built of basalt stone, during Antiquity Cap d’Agde was home to a Greek port. This is one of the most popular coastal tourist destinations in France, and the town’s leading yacht resort. The ideal living environment to make the most of this lively and very friendly setting, in summer and winter alike. 

    With the ease of access into the resort via the pedestrian areas and cycle paths, the district is alive with innovative and fun facilities, such as the new Palais des Congrès and the casino. There are also footbridges allowing access to the International Tennis Centre, golf course or Musée de l’Éphèbe. 

    The Rambla is the district’s new main rue, a very wide pedestrian walkway punctuated by major stores. It leads to the port and Racine esplanade where typical restaurants, bars and shops will give you a comprehensive taste of the Dolce Vita in Languedoc. 

    Things to do in Cap d’Agde 

    Cap d’Agde has activities for everyone of all ages, making it a perfect holiday destination. You can visit the Musee de l’Ephebe which is an underwater archaeology museum that overlooks the harbour. The museum consists of 3 galleries, modern gallery, bronze gallery, and antique gallery. You can also visit a World Heritage Site in Cap d’Agde. Canal du Midis is a 250 km long waterway which stretches from Toulouse to Sete and was constructed in the 17th century. The unique part of this canal at Agde is that the Agde lock is the sole round lock on the whole canal. 

    If you want something to entertain your children for a day or bring out your inner child, then you can visit the Aquapark. It consists of a wave pool, a bubble area for relaxation and for some adventure then you can go on the rapids or down one of the several slides in the park.
